Irving Penn Inspiration project reflection, description, and image. Much of Irving Penn's artwork is fashion photography, but he is also know for still life images. Additional to food products and found objects, Penn often shot flowers. For my Irving Penn Inspiration assignment, I took creative direction from Penn's flower still life's.
To shoot this, I found a hibiscus flower and placed it into a vase filled with water in front of a white background. Adding water into the composition made small droplets appear on the petals of the flower, creating interesting detail. Comments are closed.
