Having the ability to write about art is a crucial piece of being a strong artist. With this in mind, my Photography teacher assigns us subjects to investigate through blogs. On my AP Art blog you can find posts that analyze topics & other artist's work, provide information about PVHS Photo Club, reflect on my own work, give tips on various techniques, and more.
Recap of the second Photography Club meeting of the 2019-20 school year. (Tuesday, Oct. 1) More San Francisco trip details: The maximum number of students that we will be taking on the trip is 25. Below are the specific details on the selection of those students. We will be meeting at LAX (not taking a bus from school) at 4:30am on Tuesday, Oct. 29 to catch our 6am flight to San Francisco. We will be arriving back at LAX that evening around 9:30pm. The trip will be heavy on walking. For example, last year we walked approx. 12 miles. Once we arrive at SFO, we will take the BART from the airport to the center of the city. Then, we will get breakfast and visit Coit Tower on our way to the Big Bus tour. The Big Bus is a double-decker bus that we will use to get around the city and see the sights. We plan on seeing the Japanese Tea Garden, Haight-Ashbury, the Painted Ladies, and crossing the Golden Gate Bridge on the bus. (These are tentative sight plans and may change) We will end the trip in Chinatown that evening before taking BART back to SFO and catching our flight back to Los Angeles. The day after the trip is a Wednesday Late-Start! Reminder: You must plan your own ride to and from LAX in the morning and evening. The trip will cost $170. This covers the cost of plane tickets, BART, and, Big Bus. Checks should be made out to Kristy Jimenez (PVHS Photography & Animation teacher) as she will be purchasing all tickets for students. Please plan on bringing additional money for meals. We recommend around $30. Checks are due to Ms. Jimenez in room 211 by Thursday, October 3. She will give you a permission slip after you turn in your check. You will be required to get this permission slip signed by all of your B-day teachers, as the trip is on Tues. Oct. 29, which is a B-day. Refunds will be given only in the circumstance that YOU find another student to take your place, and it must be at least 3 days in advance (by Fri. Oct. 25) Please contact the Photo Club if you have any further questions by replying to the Remind, emailing any of us, or contacting me Here. Thank you to everyone who made it to the meeting today. Hope you're just as stoked for the trip as we are! Emily Imbach and the Photo Club Board Recap of the first Photography Club meeting of the 2019-20 school year!
